Eagle
rehabilitation

In collaboration with Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa (PSSEJ), BioKon supports the eagle rehabilitation process through integrated and systematic stages. This program goes beyond basic care of protected wildlife, and represents a series of scientific and technical efforts to restore the physical condition, natural behavior, and survival skills of eagles so they can return to living independently in their natural habitat.

During the rehabilitation process, PSSEJ faces a wide range of cases and conditions that often occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Like a wildlife hospital, each eagle admitted has a different background and level of severity, ranging from injuries caused by poaching and illegal wildlife trade to behavioral disorders resulting from long-term captivity by humans. Each individual requires specific treatment based on its medical condition, psychological state, and level of stress.

The success of rehabilitation strongly depends on the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, such as quarantine enclosures, treatment cages, flight cages, medical equipment, and a supportive recovery environment. In addition, the quality of human resources is a key factor. The competence and collaboration of a team consisting of veterinarians, animal caretakers, researchers, and volunteers play an essential role in ensuring that every stage of rehabilitation is carried out effectively until the eagle is ready to be released back into the wild.

Eagle Treatment

Eagle treatment focuses on medical care, rehabilitation, and recovery to prepare injured or rescued eagles for safe return to the wild.

Through this rehabilitation program, BioKon and PSSEJ not only strive to improve the quality of care and supporting facilities, but also carry an educational mission to raise public awareness of the importance of wildlife protection. This program reflects our commitment to bridging science, compassion, and field action, to ensure that eagles can once again soar freely and fulfill their role as guardians of ecosystem balance.
